Employee Skills Check

THIS NOT A CERTIFICATION CLASS

The Employee Skills Check is NOT an American Red Cross course. The Employee Skills Check DOES NOT recertify you for American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, or First Aid. This means NO guard can take this two years in a row and still be certified.

All Sweetwater Pools employees must take a Full Class, Review Class, or Employee Skills Check with us prior to working as a lifeguard each summer season. You may take any class you wish, depending on eligibility, to satisfy this requirement.

To be eligible to take this course:

 - The employee must have submitted your full application for employment with Sweetwater Pools for the 2025 summer season.               

- The employee must be eligible for rehire by Sweetwater Pools

- The Employee must bring your I-9 Documents on the day of the class at 8:00 AM

1. The original and a copy of your US Passport.

OR

1. A picture ID and a copy of that ID (school, Drivers License etc.).

AND

2. A birth certificate OR Social Security Card and a copy of whichever one you have with you.

Visit the American Red Cross website if you need a copy of your certification cards.

8:00am-8:00pm

Items to bring:

 - swimsuit
- goggles (you may wear them for the  swim test if you wish)

- towel

- change of clothes
- food for lunch
- CPR Resuscitation Mask (available for purchase for $15)

If your lifeguarding skills are not up to par and you are unable to successfully pass the Employee Skills Check examination, you will be required to complete a Lifeguard Review course instead in order to be eligible to work.
